Scholarships LSE India and a major research program of cooperation in the field of gender equality in the country were announced during the current visit British Prime Minister David Cameron in India.

LSE scholarships will allow more students from India to study for a master's degree at the prestigious London-based British university this year.

The prices range from 3000 to 32,000 pounds, depending on financial need and are open to all Indian students who have an offer of a place on a Masters program in LSE April 30, 2013.

The School has also announced a collaborative research program on gender equality in India with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (ICSS) in Mumbai.

LSE tie-up with TISS is supported by Jamsetji Tata Trust, which has provided $ 1.8 million to fund joint research projects since 2007.

They are now looking to expand their collaboration focusing on women's issues and support a joint program of research, advocacy and action to create a safe and supportive environment for achieving gender gender in India.

This is an exciting development that promises to shed light on a vital area of social policy in India. The partnership between the LSE and TISS has already borne fruit and it is encouraging that it can now be developed further, "TISS director Prof Parasuraman added.
